Almost every conversation I’ve ever had about investing always starts, and ends with talking about money. We rate our success based on how much money we make, but only focusing on money won’t lead to success. Success is misunderstood. Success isn’t just about money, it is made up of many different things.
When we invest we only expect to make money from our investments, which is an unrealistic expectation. That’s not how it works. Losing money is to be expected, as well as making money. Especially when you are starting out. Which means you need to have a really good reason to work through those losses. So that you will one day reach success.
You can’t just throw your money out there and expect it to make more money for you. Investing isn’t some sort of gamble. Investing is risk based. You have to build your personal and financial skills up enough to increase your chances of making money. You have to work for it!
You have to build up your financial education. You have to learn more about yourself. Not all of these pieces about success come to you. You find pieces as you learn about investing, and piece them together as you go. As you gain more experience investing, more and more pieces of success will come to you. When you continue piecing all of those pieces together, you will then start to see the bigger picture. That point is when you gain clarity about money, and have a drastic perspective shift about success. Seeing the bigger picture is what allows you to become successful.
This whole time money only played a small part in creating success. If this is true, then it doesn’t matter how much income you make. You have a chance to obtain success if you’re willing to put in the work, and stay consistent.
Obtaining wealth isn’t some sort of simple formula that works for everyone. Obtaining wealth starts with you. Wealth is when you build yourself up to a point where you can genuinely say “I AM HAPPY WITH EVERYTHING THAT I DO!” and not have any financial problems at all.
One day… or Day One! This is a choice you are able to make. If you allow yourself. Make choices that are best for you. In the end, you are the one who has to deal with the consequences of those choices. It doesn’t matter what other people say is best for you, or what you should do with your life. If the choice doesn’t work for you, it works against you. You matter more than any opinions that are out there, so spend more time learning about yourself. Build yourself up to a point where those opinions won’t matter anymore, because you will know exactly what choices are best for you now.
